Here We Are Again!

It's been a LONG while since I've written a blog on this page. My previous years tour adventures are located at jasonsnationaltour.tumblr.com; you can visit that if you want; but all my 2018 tour stuff will be here.

This is my fourth year on tour with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018).

As far as the show and the travel are concerned, not much is different this year than any other year. There are some new cities, in fact, every venue we've been to thus far has been new to me.

We opened in Dayton, Ohio. We were able to stay a few nights as we had several performances there. It's always nice, especially in our first city on tour, to stay a few days in one spot.

During some free time, I traveled down Wayne Ave to various thrift/vintage stores.
I was fortunate to ask the lady at one of the vintage shops if she had anything Dr Pepper related. She said she had JUST purchased a thermometer, and she was pretty sure it was Dr Pepper. She hadn't even brought it from her house (behind the store) to the store yet. Once she got it, I inspected it, checked it against others like it online, and decided to buy it. It looks like this -- probably from the late 50s or early 60s. Pretty cool.
In walking through the city, I saw some interesting buildings and found some interesting snacks.

From Dayton we went to Grand Rapids, Michigan. We didn't have too much time to spend here, but we made the best of it. It was VERY chilly, but no snow or rain. In the daytime, a few of us went to the Gerald Ford Museum/Library which just happened to be right across the street from our hotel. I confess, though I am fascinated by history and especially the Office of the Presidency, I knew very little about Gerald Ford; first and foremost that he had anything to do with Grand Rapids, Michigan. NOW I know. (This also made the 5th Presidential Library I've been to -- Truman, Nixon, Reagan, Kennedy, and now Ford.)

You see this Aunt Waneta?? Maybe a new career for you!

 Merry Christmas!

That's all for now. There's plenty more to say; there just needs to be more time to put it down in the blog. Plus tons more pictures, obviously. I'm sitting at my computer in Hamlet, NC where we had one show tonight. On to Charleston, WV tomorrow morning early.

Goodnight, and thanks for reading.
